Facebook Ads are about making people talk about your business. It focuses on word-of-mouth marketing. Facebook Ads can not only help you sell, they can also help you build an interactive relationship with your customer.

It depends. If your services or products are a solution for problems that your potential clients are looking for on Google, it could be profitable to invest in Adwords.
Google Adwords is generally more expensive in comparison to Facebook Ads, but you should run some tests to find out if it fits for your business. Facebook Ads is always useful if your potential clients are Facebook users, and if you can target them through their “social characteristics”: interests, age, gender, work, etc. However, through website retargeting you can create custom audiences of people who visited your website or blog. By doing this, you can reinforce your Google Adwords campaigns and maximize all the other sources of traffic. Hope it helps. It is a very broad topic, and instead of going into long stories, I will try to make it simple and short in notes:
Google has more revenue from advertising than Facebook (so people advertise more on Google) Facebook Ads Manager is according to many, easier to navigate and use than Google Ads Manager (although they did improve it in 2019) If we talk about driving traffic to your website, usually Facebook is cheaper (CPC - cost per click). Google’s search campaigns are usually much more expensive when we talk about CPA (cost per action) in general, however, Google display campaigns are more similar to Facebook Ads when it comes to the cost. Facebook demographic targeting is better and more punctual, especially when it comes to the age groups. Facebook is very powerful when it comes to detailed and advanced targeting, especially with lookalike audiences and Facebook pixel, but Google is also very good when it comes to re marketing. Google is better for location targeting because it owns Google Maps, so I believe they can be more punctual and track your behavior better based on that. On Facebook you can be more creative with the design, effects and message that you are giving to customers, on Google you are mostly left with a text and description place (of course not counting YouTube). Google is better when it comes to shopping ads and people with stronger intent. Although Facebook did improve on that with collection ads format, my opinion is that Google is still better when it comes to this. Keep in mind that Facebook owns Instagram, Messenger, and Whats App, while Google has YouTube, G mail, Google Maps. All of these play a big role when it comes to data collection and ad placement. Moreover, according to some, just YouTube is bigger than Facebook, not to mention when we add other services of Google as well. |
